1- 'Bigil'
2019 Sports Action Drama film "Bigil" directed by Atlee starring Thalapathy Vijay, Nayanthara and Jackie Shroff had collected over Rs 300 crore globally and it became the highest grossing film of Vijay till now. Vijay played the dual role as father and son in the movie. His father character Rayappan was very well appreciated by the audience. Vijay played the role of a former football player who struggles to train a women's football team and avenge his father's death.
2-'Mersal'
Vijay featured in triple roles for the first time in "Mersal" and it was the second collaboration of Atlee and Vijay. The film had collected around Rs 260 crore worldwide and it became the highest grossing Tamil Film of 2017. In the film, a magician and a doctor attempt to expose the corruption in the India's Medical Industry. Vijay's role as a Vetrimaaran from the film was a memorable one.
3- 'Sarkar'
2018 Political Action film "Sarkar" directed by AR Murugadoss starring Thalapathy Vijay, Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has collected over 250 Crores globally and it became the second highest grossing Tamil Film of 2018. Vijay played the role of an NRI Businessman in the film who learns his vote which has been cast by someone else and decides to investigate the matter, eventually finding himself pitted against two corrupt politicians.
4-'Theri'
2016 Revenge Action Drama Film "Theri" was the first time Vijay and Atlee came together. The film which stars Vijay, Samantha and Amy Jackson has the story revolves around a baker who holds a secret identity as former Deputy Commissioner of Police. It has grossed over Rs 150 crore at the box office and the film was celebrated by Vijay's fans all over.
5-'Thuppakki'
'Thuppaki' was the Vijay's first Rs 100 crore grosser film. It was directed by AR Murugadoss and Vijay played the role of an army captain who is on a mission to track down and destroy a terrorist gang and deactivate the sleeper cells under its command. The film stars Vijay, Kajal Aggarwal and Vidyut Jammwal. It has collected around Rs 180 crore worldwide during its theatrical run.
